Our Team
Simon Sim, Lead Pastor
simon.sim@abovethehills.org
If you were given the opportunity to look at Simon’s google search history, this is what you would find. 1. Christian books (preferably ones with pictures and big font)... 2. Worship chord sheets (preferably ones with simple chords that don’t require him to dislocate his fingers to play)... and 3. Knicks news and/or highlights (though those are very few). Outside of this, you’d probably find him spending time with his beautiful wife and 2 smart kids. Giving his life to the Lord at 14, he spent more than half of his life trying to figure out the marriage between who he is and who he is called to be. Still haven’t mastered it, but God’s calling is clear and strong.
Moses Pen, Associate Pastor
moses.pen@abovethehills.org
Moses probably has approximately 1GB worth of space in his memory and most of it is filled with lines from the Lord of The Rings and Rush Hour movies. He loves basketball, especially his local team, Boston Celtics. However, if you were to bet on either Moses or your grandma in a basketball game, You probably should bet on grandma. If you’re struggling to get him a gift, Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream is a safe way to go. He is married to a beautiful wife and has 2 wonderful boys. When you see them, you’ll know they’re his. Moses grew up in a Christian home and gradually came to a realization that God’s love shown through Christ is what he ultimately needs.
Larry Pen, Worship Director
larry.pen@abovethehills.org
You’ll quickly learn that there is more to Larry than meets the eye. He is a mystery that cannot be properly understood by first impressions. However, he is pretty easy to talk to once you get passed that initial encounter. He’s into many things like sports, fitness, electronics, movies, video games, music/arts, cars and fashion. But the one thing in this world he is most into is FOOD. I mean, who doesn’t love to eat!? Larry grew up in a Christian home and along the way, through and with the help of many people, came to realize and embrace God’s love.
